Getting started

What is Intervana?

Intervana is an AI interview coach for your phone. It runs live mock interviews by voice, asks real questions for the role you’re targeting, and scores your answers against a rubric, with the evidence behind every piece of feedback.

Its signature feature is the Mirror: you predict how you did before you see your results, and Intervana tracks how closely your self-perception matches what actually happened. There are resume and cover letter tools too, and a coach that adapts to wherever you keep struggling.

Is interview practice really free?

Yes. Practice sessions are free. You can work through questions for your target role without paying anything.

Live mock interviews are the part that uses minutes. That’s the real-time voice conversation with the AI interviewer, and you pay for the time you actually spend interviewing. The distinction is deliberate: practice should never be behind a paywall.

Do I need a camera for a mock interview?

No. Intervana’s mock interviews are voice conversations. You talk, the AI interviewer listens and responds. No camera, no video, and nothing to set up beyond letting the app use your microphone.

That means you can run a session anywhere you can speak out loud: a bedroom, a parked car, a quiet room at work.

What is the Mirror in Intervana?

The Mirror is the part of Intervana that measures your self-awareness, not just your answers.

After a mock interview, you predict how you did before you’re shown anything. Then you see the rubric-scored feedback and the evidence behind it. Over time Intervana tracks the gap between your prediction and the result. That gap is your calibration.

That gap matters because it’s the thing you can’t see on your own. Most people walk out of a real interview with no idea how they came across. Closing that gap is what makes the practice transfer.

What kinds of interview questions can I practice?

Behavioral questions are the core: the “tell me about a time when…” family that most interviews lean on, and where structure like the STAR method does the heavy lifting. Intervana pulls questions appropriate to the role you’re preparing for.

You can work through them as free practice sessions or face them live in a mock interview, where you have to answer out loud, in the moment, the way you will on the day.

How do I practice for a specific job or role?

Tell Intervana what you’re interviewing for and it draws questions for that role rather than a generic list. The closer your target is to a real posting, the more useful the session.

If you’ve already got a resume in the app, the coach uses it to steer follow-up questions toward your actual experience, which is where most interviews get hard.

Minutes & billing

How do interview minutes work?

Minutes are the unit. A live mock interview is a real-time voice conversation, and it spends minutes for the time you’re actually interviewing. Practice sessions don’t use minutes at all.

You’ll always see what you have before a session starts. Nothing gets spent in the background, and you should never reach a paywall without knowing what it buys.

How much does Intervana cost?

Practice is free. Live mock interviews use minutes, available through a subscription, and current prices are shown in the App Store listing and in the app before you’re charged.

We don’t publish price numbers here, because the page you’re reading can go stale and your App Store checkout can’t. Check there for the figure that will actually be billed.

What happens when I run out of interview minutes?

Live mock interviews pause until you have minutes again. Practice sessions keep working. Those are free and don’t depend on your balance.

You’ll be told where you stand before a live session rather than partway through one.

How do I cancel my Intervana subscription?

Intervana subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID, so you cancel them in Apple’s settings rather than in the app:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Select Intervana, then Cancel Subscription.

Apple’s billing terms apply to renewals and refunds. If something looks wrong on your side, email help@intervana.app and we’ll help you sort it out.

Troubleshooting

The AI interviewer can't hear me. How do I fix it?

A live mock interview needs microphone access. If Intervana isn’t picking you up:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone, scroll to Intervana, and check that Microphone is switched on.
  2. Make sure nothing else is holding the mic. End any call, and disconnect Bluetooth headphones if you’re not using them.
  3. Close and reopen the app so it requests the mic again.

Silent mode doesn’t block the microphone, but it will mute the interviewer’s voice. Check the side switch if the session seems one-sided.

Still stuck? Email help@intervana.app and tell us your device and iOS version.

Email help@intervana.app for anything to do with the app: billing, a session that went wrong, a bug, or an account question.
